Mission

Virtue Foundation is a public charitable and nongovernmental organization with special consultative status to the United Nations. The Foundation's mission is to increase awareness of prevalent global issues, to inspire people to action, and to render humanitarian assistance through healthcare, education, and empowerment initiatives. Comprised primarily of volunteers, Virtue Foundation is guided by the principle that true global change must begin within each of us—one person at a time, one act at a time.

Objectives

As advancements in technology and telecommunications have merged with increasing levels of migration, a new paradigm of interconnectivity and interdependence has emerged. No longer limited to economic and financial considerations, the reality of globalization now encompasses all aspects of our daily lives, presenting a host of complex cultural, humanitarian, and social issues.

To explore the various ramifications of globalization and to create an open forum for the exchange of diverse ideas and viewpoints, Virtue Foundation organizes lectures and panel discussions featuring prominent experts from a variety of backgrounds. The goal of such events is to raise public awareness of global rights and responsibilities and to encourage people to become actively involved in their local communities and beyond, for the process of true global change begins within each of us, one person at a time.

From the tragic events of September 11th to viral epidemics and natural disasters, it has become quite clear that no nation in the 21st century can afford to remain oblivious to events transpiring in other parts of the globe. The time has therefore come for each of us to become cognizant of global issues affecting our fellow beings and to actively participate in improving their conditions in any manner that we can.

Through its various humanitarian initiatives and medical missions to underprivileged regions of the world, Virtue Foundation seeks to not only remedy the acute ailments at hand, but also to establish sustainable infrastructures that will enable local communities to become more self-sufficient in the future. The Foundation therefore provides critical education and medical training to physicians and nurses who have committed to returning to their local communities upon the completion of their training.
